Stylistic of Madhoosh Golpayegani's Sonnets

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Madhoosh Golpayegani is one of the unsung poets of the 12th century who has numerous works in poetry and prose. One of his valuable works is the Divan [collection] of poems, which includes his sonnets, odes, fragment poems and quatrains. In this article, the style and content of his sonnets are investigated from intellectual, linguistic and literary aspects. The aim of this study was to achieve the ability of the poet as one of the sonneteers of the literary return period.
METHODOLOGY: this research was conducted in a library method and an authentic manuscript written by the poet himself has been used.
FINDINGS: Madhoosh Golpayegani has proved his ability in writing sonnets and his mastery of literary figures and poetic and artistic elegance is obvious. Choice of meters in his lyrics fits the theme. The verb monorhymes, sometimes interrogative, have added to the richness of his poetry. The flow of verses is the ease of transferring concepts and utilizing appropriate powers from the indicators of poetry. Ramal, hazaj and muzare meters have the highest frequency in his sonnets. From a literary aspect, his sonnet is based more on similes and has also used metaphor, allusion and exaggeration to a considerable extent. From intellectually aspect, the main theme of his sonnet is love and his lover is earthly. In this regard, it has no new words and has generally repeated the theme of the past. In his sonnets, moral, philosophical and mystical interpretations are also referenced, and attention to Khayami"s thought can also be seen in the content of his sonnet.
CONCLUSION: Madhoosh Golpayegani has been a powerful sonneteer. Like other poets of his time, he imitated his predecessors and considered their poetry in the selection of themes, rhymes and monorhymes. he has understood the poetic features of the previous sonnets and has been able to reflect their linguistic, literary and intellectual characteristics in his sonnet.
